Neven Hendricks (Board Chair)
Neven plans to actively transform South African children’s lives by mobilising civil society organisations, government institutions and volunteers from all over the country to give time and money. Having grown up in a disadvantaged community, he knows first-hand what it is like to be a child in need. Neven has worked for a number of corporations in South Africa; Ford Motors, Nedcor Investment Bank and most recently, as Partner and COO at Deloitte & Touche. Aside from his extensive work experience, he brings experience from other Boards as well, having served as Director of Project Literacy. Neven was born in Port Elizabeth and is a Chartered Accountant by training. He has three children.
Elisabeth is the Secretary General of Save the Children Sweden (Rädda Barnen). Background in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs latest assignement Ambassador and Director of the Partnership for Global Responsibility. Has served in the Swedish Embassies in Zambia, Brazil and Vietnam as well as in the UN and the Council of Europe. During apartheid, in charge of cooperation with the ANC exile government and with the anti-apartheid movement inside South Africa.
Mapule serves as General Manager of Corporate Services at Consumer Goods Council of South Africa. Ms. Ncanywa served as an Acting Chief Executive Officer of Consumer Goods Council of South Africa from August 31, 2011 to January 1, 2012. Ms. Ncanywa is the second most senior employee within the CGCSA. She has been an integral part of the organisation for the past two years and she has participated in the CGCSA Board meetings as an Acting Company Secretary before.
Dr. Roshini Moodley Naidoo
Roshini is a senior manager at Discovery Health where she is responsible for the risk and quality management of the Professional portfolio. Roshini was selected into Discovery’s inaugural CEO programme, and represents the company on the Board of Directors of Heath Quality Assurance, an industry initiative committed to improving the quality of healthcare in South Africa. Roshini’s managerial experience within financial services involves her tenure at First National Bank where she implemented the bank’s triple bottom line strategy. Her clinical experience in South Africa and the United Kingdom is complemented by operational roles within healthcare at Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts and Harvard University Health Care.
